Twisteds are the main antagonists of Dandy's World.
They are the corrupted versions of Toons, disfigured by Ichor. Their only objective is to kill the players.

Every round will start with two Twisteds per floor and will increase depending on the number of floors reached and the amount of players alive.
Twisteds are split into five rarities, each weighted differently depending on the floor number: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Main, and Lethal. Common Twisteds possess no special abilities and usually possess stats reflecting the statistical build of their Toon counterpart. Uncommon Twisteds possess special abilities but none pose a direct threat to the player, instead providing more of a subtle threat that changes how the player interacts with the floor. Rare Twisteds possess special abilities that pose a direct threat to the player. Main Character Twisteds are unique threats that interact with the player in unusual ways. There is only one Lethal Twisted as of now, that being Twisted Dandy. Lethal Twisteds will kill the player in one attack regardless of current health.
Most Twisteds roam the halls of the various floors of the Gardenview Center, wandering aimlessly. Upon spotting a player, they will begin a chase. A chase will end if the player is able to remain out of sight for long enough or if the Twisted successfully attacks the player by coming into contact with them. A successful attack will normally result in one heart's worth of damage and the Twisted will pause for a few moments, giving the player ample time to run away. Roaming Twisteds will be alerted by failed skill checks and, if nearby, will run as if they are in a chase towards the source of the noise. They will not exhibit this behavior if they are in a chase when a skill check is failed.
All roaming Twisteds have their own stats relating to Speed (either in a chase or while roaming), Detection Range (which is also reliant on the player's stealth stat), and Attention Span (how long they remain in chase when the player is out of line of sight).
Certain Twisteds are stationary and cannot chase the player. They instead rely on traps to either trick the player or inhibit their movement. Like roaming Twisteds, their successful attacks result in one heart's worth of damage, but rely on line of sight to connect with the player.
A random Twisted will appear on the Board at 12am GMT and for 24 hours will have more chances to appear during the game.
When the player initiates a chase or encounters a stationary Twisted, it will provide them with five tapes and increase their Research progress with that particular Twisted by 5% (10% if playing as Rodger).
Common Twisteds have a spawn rate of 75 on a given floor.
Twisted Boxten is a roaming twisted that possesses no special abilities, the same as Twisted Poppy and Cosmo. Reflecting his average counterpart, his speed, detection range, and attention span are all average.
You should try to get away from his sight if he spots you. Try to preserve 40-70 stamina to outrun Boxten, especially on later floors where you get chased constantly; running out of stamina will make you vulnerable to Boxten and may get you killed.
"One of the most common Twisteds you'll encounter. Overcome by Ichor, this Twisted has the innate urge to chase others down. Thankfully, it appears that this Twisted doesn't have any abilities to aid him." -Twisted Research
Twisted Cosmo is a roaming twisted that possesses no special abilities, the same as Twisted Boxten and Poppy.
Just like Boxten and Poppy, try to get out of his sight if he sees you, and preserve some stamina in case he spots you.
"One of the most common Twisteds you'll encounter. Being overcome by Ichor and separated from his best friend has driven this Twisted to chase Toons down. It appears this Twisted lacks any noteworthy abilities, however." -Twisted Research
Twisted Poppy is a roaming twisted that possesses no special abilities, the same as Twisted Boxten and Cosmo. Reflecting her average counterpart, her speed, detection range, and attention span are all average.
Just like Boxten, try to get out of her sight and preserve some stamina if she spots you.
"One of the most common Twisteds you'll encounter. Overcome by Ichor, this Twisted has the innate urge to chase others down. Thankfully, it appears that this Twisted doesn't have any abilities to aid her." -Twisted Research
Twisted Looey is a roaming Twisted that has higher than average detection range and higher attention span due to his height. Stay further away from this twisted than other commons.
"While this Twisted is more common than others, Looey is still a dangerous foe. Overcome with ichor his physical changes have provided him a higher point of view compared to other common Twisteds, able to see further and retain attention within chase for longer periods of time." -Twisted Research
Twisted Shrimpo is slower than the other Twisteds, but because of this, his attention span is higher. He'll chase you for longer even if you're out of his sight. Try to outrun him as long as you can and get far from his range.
"While this Twisted is more common than others, Shrimpo is not to be messed with. Overcome by Ichor, this Twisted's bullying has become deadly. He may be slower than the average Twisted, but he has trained eyesight for Toons to bully. Don't get caught" -Twisted Research
Twisted Tisha is a roaming Twisted that possesses no special abilities, yet has a small gimmick. She acts just like the average twisted, but the difference is that she can idle around areas. This means she can camp machines and could be somewhat annoying in runs where there are no distractors, or if you're playing solo.
Just like Poppy and Boxten, you want to preserve some stamina and watch out for her. Try to get out of her sight. In a situation where she is idling around a machine, you can try to distract her away into a different area or wait for her to move on.
"This commonly seen Twisted is most often spotted moving from place to place spending a considerably long time cleaning the floor. Interrupting her work would not be wise!" -Twisted Research
Uncommon Twisteds have a spawn rate of 25 on a given floor.
Twisted Brightney is a roaming Twisted easily made visible by her red glow, which can be seen even through walls. Reflecting her luminous counterpart, her special ability increases the chance of a Blackout occurring on any floor she appears on by re-rolling the blackout chance once if one does not occur.
"A more uncommon Twisted, Brightney uses her knowledge and cunning to tamper with the lighting system, increasing the chance of a Blackout occurring on the Floor she resides in. Be sure to come prepared if this happens!"" -Twisted Research
Twisted Finn is a roaming twisted who is easier to track due to the trail of Ichor behind him. When finishing a machine on the same floor as this twisted, you gain SlowSlow (III) for 6 seconds. It's best noted you finish the machine closest to the elevator, as SlowSlow (III) can be a big threat in the long run.
"This Twisted is filled to the brim with Ichor and uncontrolled vigor. Finn makes up for his lack of mobility by dousing Toons who have recently completed Machines in Ichor, greatly slowing their movement. Check your surroundings before completing Machines!" -Twisted Research
Twisted Teagan is a roaming twisted similar to other Twisteds who wander the halls aimlessly. Reflecting her Toon counterpart's ability, she will steal a fourth or an eighth of your Tapes depending on how many you have when she hits you, while also being slightly faster than the average twisted.
"A more uncommon Twisted Teagan has let her greed take over. This twisted will steal a considerable amount of a Toon's Tapes when she attacks them. Be sure to spend your tapes while you have them!" -Twisted Research
Twisted Razzle & Dazzle are a pair of fused-together, stationary Twisteds that will spawn in a random location on the floor, sitting in an idle state encircled by red, vine-like tendrils. While they are in this idle state, they are harmless and the player can freely walk within their circle, even venturing as close as they'd like to the sitting Twisteds.
If a player runs within the circle, their hostile state will activate. Upon spotting a player, they will cause vines to shoot up from the ground underneath the player, stabbing at their feet and causing one heart's worth of damage. If 15 seconds pass without a player entering the circle during their hostile state, they will return to their idle position.
Twisted Razzle & Dazzle requires line of sight with the player to deal damage, so any object or wall between them and the player will prevent them from attacking. However, they do not require line of sight to become hostile, and they will remain hostile for a couple of seconds until they return to their idle state once again. Triggering their hostile state without being in their line of sight does not give tapes - you must be in their line of sight while they are in their hostile state for any period of time to be awarded tapes. If you are in their line of sight while they are hostile, you can quickly exit the circle or break line of sight without taking damage.
"Be sure to tread lightly around this Twisted, or you will regret it. This Twisted will wake up and attack Toons that sprint past. If left undisturbed they will fall back asleep. Walk slow and cautiously around them." -Twisted Research
Twisted Rodger is a stationary Twisted that will spawn in a random location on the floor. Reflecting the investigative nature of his counterpart, he disguises himself as a fake Research Capsule to trick players into activating him. Upon player interaction with this fake Research Capsule, the player will have the debuffs ConfusedConfused (III) and SlowSlow (III) applied to them, and Rodger will spawn out of the ground and begin charging an attack from his magnifying glass eye. After a short charge time, he will shoot a beam from his eye and inflict one heart's worth of damage to the player. If he does not spot a player for several seconds, he will sink back into the ground and become a fake Research Capsule once again.
Like Twisted Razzle & Dazzle, he requires line of sight to attack the player. His attack is also easy to outrange, which will also cause him to lose interest.
Twisted Rodger's fake Research Capsule can be easily distinguished from a real Research Capsule. If there is nothing in the middle of the capsule or if there are no safety strips on the capsule, it is fake. If there are film strips wrapped around the center, it is real. There can only be one fake Research Capsule per floor.
Twisted Connie is a new twisted. It starts out as a friendly blue apparition, slowly moving from a point of the map to a random Machine on the map, once reaching a Machine, she will possess the Machine, and if said Machine is completed, the light will change from green to red. Although she can possess uncompleted machines as well. Once she's about to leave (presumably after 10 seconds), the Machine's light will flash blue, and she will pop out of the Machine. Interacting with the Machine while she's possessing it will have her pop out prematurely and deal a Heart of damage to the player. Twisted Connie can also possess completed Machines.
"A more uncommon Twisted, Connie prefers to spend her time alone focused on possessing ichor Machines. This activity fills her sense of purpose within Gardenview. When roaming she is harmless though if disturbed while busy possessing a machine she becomes aggressive and will attack, remember she can't possess a machine forever." -Twisted Research
Twisted Toodles is a roaming Twisted that possesses no special abilities. Reflecting her childish counterpart, her attention span is weak, and she can easily lose track of the player. However, she is the third fastest Twisted in the game alongside Twisted Shelly and easily one of the biggest threats on any floor. Before update 0.2.0, Toodles was originally a common Twisted.
"Do not let this Twisted's size fool you. Toodles is a volatile Twisted that chases Toons with her high speed. Thankfully, this Twisted's attention span is 'rather low', so if you can get out of sight you should be safe from her." -Twisted Research
Rare Twisteds have a spawn rate of 8 on a given floor.
Twisted Flutter is a fast Rare Twisted who hunts down the toons similarly to Twisted Toodles. If you see this twisted, get out of her sight, as her roaming speed is the same as her chasing speed.
While Twisted Flutter has an attention span similar to Twisted Toodles, she makes up for this with the ability to target a player even if the player isn’t in her line of sight. So, with this in mind, it’s important to stay as far away from her as possible, even if she isn’t facing your direction.
Twisted Flutter has the unique ability to not pause while roaming like other Twisteds will. Another thing is that after she attacks, she will not not stop. The only way to get her to stop moving is to use the Blushy Bat Trinket.
"This Twisted is as dangerous as it is agile, constantly on the move with nimble speed and never stopping to rest. Flutter will quickly patrol the room for any easy targets, so be vigilant and hide when she's near." -Twisted Research
Twisted Gigi is a medium-sized, roaming Twisted that has a similar ranged ability to that of Twisted Goob and Twisted Scraps. However, Twisted Gigi has the ability to take your items from you when she attacks, and her ranged attack does not do damage. She takes your items from your slots in the order they're listed (1, 2, 3). If you do not have any items on hand, she will not use her ranged attack and will only attack when you get too close. This Twisted's speed is similar to that of Twisted Astro, so it's advised to avoid Twisted Gigi, whether she steals your important items or not.
"If you have your hands full with items, this Twisted is your worst nightmare. Gigi has the ability to reach out and snatch items from afar. Don't let her steal your important survival tools!" -Twisted Research
Twisted Glisten has a meter above his head while he is roaming aimlessly around the map. The meter gradually increases when a Toon is not near him for a certain period of time. (specifically 70 seconds.) When the meter is full or when Panic Mode activates, Glisten will become extremely fast and aggressive with no possible way to decrease the meter whatsoever. When Glisten is angered, he will not stop moving and is almost as fast as Pebble, making him the second fastest Twisted in the game. (After Twisted Pebble.) He does not beeline for the players, but instead roams around like a normal twisted.
"This Twisted has had his sturdy ego completely shattered and is on the verge of being overcome by Ichor. His fear and loneliness should be treated by staying at his side. It is not advised to leave him to succumb to his affliction." -Twisted Research
Twisted Goob is a roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Reflecting his arm-stretching counterpart, his special ability allows him to grab the players from range and drag them in to deal one heart's worth of contact damage, with a cooldown of 8 seconds.
Much like every other Twisteds' attacks, his ability requires line of sight with the player, and it will not drag the player toward him if it connects through objects.
"Underestimating this Twisted's capabilities will be fatal. This Twisted is quite dangerous, due to his ability to outstretch his arms and snatch up Toons. If you spot this Twisted get out of sight as soon as possible!" -Twisted Research
Twisted Scraps is a roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Reflecting her tail-using counterpart, her special ability allows her to attack the player at range using her tail, dealing one heart's worth of damage, with a cooldown of 10 seconds.
Much like other Twisteds' attacks, her ability requires line of sight with the player and will not damage them if it connects through objects, barriers, and islands.
"This Twisted is similar to her brother Goob in terms of abilities. She possesses a snake-like tail that she can outstretch and attack Toons from a great distance. Be sure to get out of sight when you see her!" -Twisted Research
Main Character Twisteds have a unique spawning rate, which starts at 0 and increases by 4% for every five floors, up to 20%. Main Character Twisteds cannot spawn before Floor 5. Despite popular opinion, refusing to buy does not increase Mains spawning chance but instead allows Twisted Dandy to spawn. Buying itself does not increase the spawn of mains, but doing so makes sure Twisted Dandy is not added to the pool of twisteds that can spawn.
All Main Character Twisteds have unique sound effects associated with them, usually footsteps along with another ambient effect. This serves as somewhat of a counter to the Main Character Twisteds, as they can telegraph their position and give the player an idea of where they are a relative threat. If the Main Character Twisted’s footsteps are very vague, it probably means that the Main Character Twisted is very far from you and shouldn’t be worried about. Although, if the footsteps sound loud it probably means that the Main Character Twisted is very close to you, so make sure to be on high alert when the footsteps get louder.
Rare Twisteds have a spawn rate of 8 on a given floor.
Twisted Astro is a large, roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Reflecting his support-oriented counterpart, his unique ability allows him to regress machine progress if he is alerted by a missed skill check. Astro will drain about half the current progress of the Machine, meaning he'll have a small effect on barely completed Machines and a big one if it's almost completed. Twisted Astro will now give the SleepingTired (III) debuff if you are being chased by him. Along with his draining ability, he has above-average speed and detection range, paired with a long attention span.
Twisted Astro has soft-sounding footsteps and an ethereal, space-like ambience emanating from him. This can make him the hardest Main Character to immediately detect.
Due to his SleepingTired (III) debuff that he can inflict when chasing someone, you want Toons with high movement speed like Tisha, Pebble, or Goob to distract him, as they won't be using their stamina much compared to other Toons when distracting. Try to avoid him when playing low movement speed Toons like Vee, Rodger, and Scraps, as you can easily consume all your stamina; Speed or Stamina items can be very helpful against this debuff.
"One of the Main Characters of Dandy's World. Overwhelmed by guilt and despair, this Twisted puts his grief on others. If you fail a Skill Check while on a machine and hide from him, Astro will steal completion from that Machine. Skill Check carefully!" -Twisted Research
Twisted Pebble is a massive, roaming dog that growls loudly around the halls aimlessly, being the fastest twisted, with Twisted Glisten being very close behind. Reflecting his speedy counterpart, his unique "bark" allows him to detect players from far away so a line of sight should be maintained. However, his attention span is quite modest, which makes him easy to lose if the player is able to break line of sight before he catches up. He has extremely fast speed and is very hard to get away from if he spots you in bad terrain or gets close and you have average mobility. Because of his high speed, Twisted Pebble is extremely dangerous and should be avoided if possible.
Twisted Pebble produces loud, thundering footsteps and feral noises when roaming or chasing.
Slower Toons should not dare get chased, easily being outran or being barely faster. Stay behind cover if he's fairly close and maintain knowledge on his location to prevent deaths.
Toons with 2-star movement speed can only BARELY outrun Twisted Pebble before Panic Mode, and they need to be sprinting while equipping both Speedy Shoes and Pink Bow. Even then, they will only be 0.2 speed faster than Twisted Pebble, which means that Twisted Pebble can very easily catch up when the Toon is not running in a perfectly straight line. Toons with 1-star movement speed, however, cannot outrun Twisted Pebble without items, even if Pink Bow and Ribbon Spool are being used.
"One of the Main Characters of Dandy's World. This ferocious beast will stop at nothing to defend his owner and protect his territory. Highly dangerous due to his immense speed and powerful eyesight." -Twisted Research
Twisted Vee is a large, roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Reflecting her media personality counterpart, her unique ability allows her to bombard players with pop-up advertisements, which need to be closed by clicking the red "X" button in the top right corner of the pop-up window, otherwise, they block the view of the player's screen. She will send these pop-up ads to all players upon entering the floor and every 45 seconds afterwards in groups of three.
If you don't close the pop-up ads, they will disappear a bit before the next batch. They pose no direct threat besides their tendency to cover skill checks. She will also send a single pop-up ad (that inflicts a SlowSlow (II) debuff) to a player she has spotted and began to chase, though they are still relatively harmless and pose no threat beyond their ability to block the player's vision. The Slow II debuff she creates can make her hard to escape, and her usage of it makes it significantly harder for any Toons to attempt the strategy of distracting her.
In addition to popups, she possesses a second unique ability. If a player fails a skill check, she will run as if she is in a chase to the source of that failed skill check from anywhere on the floor.
Vee's footsteps are mechanical in nature. She will additionally make agitated electronic noises when spotting a player. Vee's footsteps also leave a trail of Ichor.
"One of the Main Characters of Dandy's World. This Twisted has eyes everywhere, messing up Machines would not be advised. She will also attempt to distract Toons with worthless ads and pop-ups while she goes for the kill." -Twisted Research
Twisted Shelly is a medium-sized, roaming Twisted that applies the ConfusedConfused (I) debuff to all players on the floor she resides in, such that extraction speed is reduced by 25% whenever she is on a floor. There is no known way to remove the debuff. Reflecting her archaeologist counterpart, Twisted Shelly's body is shaped like a theropod, so she has a high running speed similar to that of Twisted Toodles, making her a big threat on any floor she's located in. It is next-to-impossible to outwalk her without trinkets due to her running speed. However, her attention span is rather low compared to the other main Twisteds, being similar to Twisted Poppy’s attention span.
Twisted Shelly footsteps sound very similar to Vee's footsteps, although more spaced out like Pebble's footsteps.
"One of the Main Characters of Dandy's World. The blatant ignorance of her existence by everyone around her has enraged her. Her presence makes every Toon extract slower, and she uses her form to her advantage in terms of speed." -Twisted Research
Twisted Sprout is a very large, roaming main Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. He spawns a large puddle of Ichor with a tendril below to stab when spotting a Toon. When he spots you, he will scream loudly as the tendrils appear from the ground, giving a warning that he is about to attack. He will spawn the thorns every 10 seconds, while the thorns linger for 15 seconds before they submerge. However, he has below-average speed, low attention span, and his tendrils are easy to dodge.
Sprout's footsteps are very crunchy sounding, like someone stepping on leaves. After every step he leaves a small puddle of Ichor that goes away seconds after.
"One of the Main Characters of Dandy's World. This twisted makes up for his slower speed by summoning deadly tendrils from the ground that strike at nearby Toons. Do not let this lonely Twisted trap you with him!" -Twisted Research
Lethal Twisteds currently have a unique way of spawning. They kill Toons in a singular hit.
Like Main Twisteds, Lethal Twisteds have sound cues that help differentiate them from normal Twisteds.
Currently, there is only 1 Lethal Twisted, with it being Twisted Dandy.
Twisted Dandy is a massive, dangerous, roaming Twisted that wanders the halls aimlessly. Reflecting his enigmatic counterpart, he has a unique spawning condition that must be met before he has a chance to spawn; Players must not buy any item from Dandy's Store for at least three floors that it appears on.
Each time every surviving player skips a shop, Dandy will become increasingly upset. Upon skipping the third shop, Dandy will become angry and Twisted Dandy will have a chance to spawn. On every subsequent shop players skip, this chance will increase; on the third time that you continue to ignore him, the music in his shop will stop playing, and Twisted Dandy is almost guaranteed to spawn on the next floor. Once this occurs (or a player purchases an item from his shop) he will go back to his cheerful self, and players must skip another three shops in order to have a chance at spawning Twisted Dandy again.
Twisted Dandy continuously emits the sound of a lullaby version of music box Clair de lune, and he makes stomping noises as he walks. These sounds are loud enough that they can be used to determine his location and if he has spawned on a floor.
Twisted Dandy acts like a normal roaming Twisted with average detection range, but a very long attention span and Twisted Shrimpo's speed. However, any player he successfully attacks will be instantly killed, making him a uniquely grave threat on any floor he appears on. Twisted Dandy additionally has the ability to immediately beeline at full speed for machines when a Toon finishes a machine.
Twisted Dandy can kill the player in one hit, regardless of how many hearts the player has, making him the only character in the lethal category.
"The star of the show. The one who runs the Ichor operation. It's all his fault." -Twisted Research
Possibly a twisted version of the newest reindeer toon, Rudie, along with the two new toons that are yet to be revealed.
